Lancashire: Sadly, I need to re-home my gorgeous 7 year old black greyhound, Wentworth. I am in the middle of a very acrimonious, expensive divorce, and after the final hearing, will have no option but to sell my home to pay off solicitor's fees. I will live with family until matters are then sorted, and I find somewhere else to live.
Wentworth is a gorgeous boy, full of love and easy to manage. House trained, he enjoys his walks, but is not demanding. he loves to travel in the car! I could not bear to take him back to the local rescue centre where he came from.

West Wales: Russell 6 year old Jack Russell
Russell came to us because his owner has died. He can be slightly aggressive if he is on a lead and meets another dog, but he has a good recall. He can be left alone for short periods, & he travels well in the car. Russell likes plenty of exercise and will chase the odd rabbit, even disappearing down a few rabbit holes! Although Russell has lived out he is house trained. Typical of terriers, he can be possessive over bones, and we would NOT rehome him with babies and toddlers, cats, or other small furry animals, We would prefer someone who has experience of this breed, and Russell would settle in with another dog or bitch. If you can offer Russell a loving, forever home, please contact us on 0845 4630623 or email rehoming@ceredigionanimalrescue.org.uk We rehome all over the UK but will always carry out a home check.
Russel - JRT

West Wales: JACK 6 year old Jack Russell
Jack is a 6-year-old Jack Russell who came to us because his owner has died. He is a typical terrier and he loves lots of exercise, when he will happily chase the odd rabbit. He has good recall and can be left alone for short periods. He travels well and, although he has lived out, he is fully house trained. Jack can be possessive of his bones and therefore, we would not rehome him with babies & young children, or cats and other small furry animals. Jack has lived with another dog, and we feel he would settle quite easily into a home with another dog or bitch, but we would prefer to rehome him to someone who has experience of this breed. If you can offer Jack a loving, forever home please contact us on 0845 4630623 or email rehoming@ceredigionanimalrescue.org.uk We rehome all over the UK but will always carry out a home check.

West Wales : TALLY 6 year old yellow Labrador girl
Tally is a very friendly, boisterous, 6 year old yellow lab. girl who loves to swim and roll in any mud she can find. She has lived out on a farm, but is also clean in the house. She understands basic commands, but in true Labrador fashion, can go selectively deaf when out. She is a very bright girl and would learn things very quickly. We feel that she would benefit from dog training classes, as she has not been socialized with other dogs (other than another Labrador that she lived with). She does tend to gobble her food down, and we are using a special type of food bowl to prevent this, which seems to be working, and her new owners would need to continue with this. Tally can get over-excited, and may snatch toys, but she never means to hurt, but, again, this can be overcome with training. She loves nothing more than to chase a ball all day long, and would benefit from living with another male dog. If you can offer Tally a loving, forever home, please contact us on 0845 4630623 or email rehoming@ceredigionanimalrescue.org.uk We rehome all over the UK but will always carry out a home check.

West Wales: INDIE 6-year-old chocolate Labrador boy
Indie is lovely 6-year-old chocolate lab boy, and is a big softie, if a tad dim! He is a typical Labrador, loves playing ball and is very friendly, if a little boisterous. He would be fine with older children but may be a bit too much for toddlers. He is used to living out, but only because, living on a farm, he has always managed to find all the fox & horse pooh! He has lived in sometimes and has always been clean. He knows some basic commands, but has not been socialized with other dogs (other than another Labrador that he lived with) and can be a little bossy. We feel that Indie would benefit from some training, and would need plenty of exercise, both mentally & physically, and would settle in a home with another girl dog for company. If you can offer Indie a loving, forever home, please contact us on 0845 4630623 or email rehoming@ceredigionanimalrescue.org.uk We rehome all over the UK but will always carry out a home check.

19 July:

South Wales: Special Home Needed. Jack is a stunningly beautiful 2yrish Collie, neutered, vaxed, flea‚d and wormed. We are looking for a special, very experienced (preferably, collie experienced) home for Jack. Jack came into foster very nervy and stressed and took a long while to settle and bond. His fosterers have worked very hard with him and have worked wonders but he still has a few foibles that would be manageable with an experienced collie owner.
But I'll let his fosterer tell you about him:
Jack needs a home where someone can continue his general socialisation around people and dogs. Although still a little 'snappy' and excitable when around new dogs with a firm handler and the ability to re focus his attention (with a treat or toy or clicker) this behaviour is very manageable. Jack has seen many foster dogs come and go during the eight months he has been with us and with careful introductions (generally off lead in the garden) we haven't experienced any major problems and any initial snapping is over in just a few hours. If a dog reacts back he is more likely to run away than stand his ground and because of this we don't feel he is overtly aggressive and displays this behaviour as a result of fear and insecurity. Jack needs someone who will be patient with him and we very much work by positive rewarding good behaviour i.e when he breaks focus on another dog and looks back at me I will reward him, and this really works with him. We know he has a tendency to stare and this seems to be what other dogs react too so we have worked very hard in not allowing him to look at dogs for a prolonged period of time as this is the point you feel him tense and then the situation can escalate very quickly.
When around other people with or without dogs we keep Jack on the lead and he walks well on this. In areas where we know there will be no unexpected people, children or dogs Jack runs off lead but we keep his focus throughout which isn't difficult as he always keeps nearby and loves to play. His recall is 100%. Jack has been fine with all the children he has met whilst with us but any introductions are always done on lead, slowly and controlled and all these children have been dog savvy and know to control situations and stay calm as he can get excitable around them. We would rehome him to a home with older dog savvy children but when being walked Jack would need an experienced handler, collie experienced would be preferable. Jack is nervous around men he hasn't met before so again we control these introductions and using treats he very quickly comes around and relaxes around them. It took a few months for Jack to respond to Darren initally and he bonded much more quickly with myself and the females within our family and friends. He has never shown aggression towards men whilst with us.
In the house Jack is very much a different dog and is the quietest sweetest natured little boy who loves nothing more than a cuddle and lay his head on your lap. Jack is generally walked 2-3 times a day for at least 30minutes at a time but would need more if kept on lead, and providing he is exercised is settled beautifully in the house un-crated. He has never shown any signs of aggressive towards food, toys or anything materialistic and is more than happy for the other dogs to take toys right out of his mouth. He has shown no interest in the chickens, guinea pigs or sheep and has been running off lead in a field with sheep and lambs and not bothered them at all.
We feel Jack would be happiest in quiet environment with another 'stable and well behaved dog' for company and he loves to play with his foster sister Charlie and they can spend hours running around the garden playing and tumbling around. I think having good dogs to influence him and show him the way is beneficial to Jack, and as he still so young at around 2 years old now he is still very playful. Although he is responding really well with the training he has had so far this is still on going so Jack needs a home where someone has the time to put into this and to be prepared to allow him time to settle in as from experience it seems Jack doesn't adapt well to new environments and stresses easily. The positive side of Jack far outweighs the negatives and he really is a gorgeous little boy with so much love to give. He is extremely intelligent and receptive and loves to please, and he knows all the basic commands, sit, down, stay, give paw, roll over etc and will do them over and over again in the hope for more treats . I hope the photos show just how stunningly beautiful he is as everytime I look at him and go awwwwww!!!!

Oxfordshire (Didcot): Izzy is a 5 year old JRT and is currently on foster in Didcot, Oxfordshire. She can be nervous of other dogs and does not know how to react to a playful dog, so a home as an only dog or with a laid back quiet non playful dog will be best for her. She will chase birds and cats in the garden so a home with out small furries is needed. Izzy is quite nervous in all respects, although has improved in her foster home but will need an experienced owner who is patient and kind and will give her time to work through this. She can growl when touched and is very worried when picked up. Due to this we will not rehome her to a home where she will have contact with children. She has nipped in fear. Izzy is house trained, walks well on the lead but is nervous of noises and anything she regards as strange. She can now be left but initially when she went into her foster home it took her a while to settle at night, so any changes in circumstances may put her back to this, but it didn‚t last long

Jude came into Hope‚s care over a year ago and has been overlooked so many times ˆ black dogs are hard to rehome, staffies, especially crosses are hard to home and older dogs are hard to rehome and right now dogs in general are hard to rehome. Jude is fighting all of the above all by herself and she doesn‚t deserve to be without her own family anymore. She is a little lumpy and bumpy and greying round the muzzle but surely she deserves a break. Jude is a 6 - 8 year old staffie cross. She is currently on foster in South Wales and loves the company of her foster family. She gets on well with the visiting children in the home but can be a little grumbly if pestered too much so needs to be homed with older or dog savvy children. Middle aged ladies are allowed to grumble - I do! She walks well on a halti and is fine with other dogs as long as she doesn't feel overwhelmed. She is currently living with another dog but would probably be happiest living as an only dog as she loves the company of her humans. She needs a home without cats or small furries and also needs a secure garden. Her foster home has been working on her recall which is now perfect. When off lead she is muzzled as a precaution she is generally be distracted by the sound of her squeaky toy! She is fine being left for a few hours although she may try and help herself to food from the fridge! As long as the fridge door is secured she is fine in the house and is not destructive. She is fully housetrained and generally an undemanding and easy dog to have around. Her foster home has worked so hard to give Jude the best chance of her own home but she is still being overlooked. She is the sweetest little dog you can imagine, there's nothing better than coming home from a long day in work and seeing her bounding up to see me, usually giving me a toy as a present. She gives the best doggy kisses, she's come so far since being here and does everything she can just to please me and is in doggy heaven when she's cwtched up to me on the sofa having her belly tickled. Jude would love a new family and promises to give you Staffy kisses and the biggest smile in the world when you walk in the room. Cardiff: Bella is a beautiful 20 month old small terrier and is currently on foster in Penarth. Bella is a happy little girl and is very sociable towards other dogs, adults and children. She loves cuddles and paddling but not baths or showers! Bella like most things to eat - pasta, rice , cheese not keen on dog biscuits - they have to be mixed with meat! She is very clean around the house and sleeps on her bed in the bedroom. Bella loves children and can be rehomed with dog savvy children. Her foster Mum is working on her training and her recall is getting better. Bella travels well in the car. She can be left for a few hours and is not destructive although has something of a plastic hairband fetish. Bella does not moult very much. All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. Nottingham : How handsome is Red? He is a lovely, friendly Staffie cross and currently on foster in Nottingham. He has a very confident and outgoing personality, adores people and will naturally lean into you when he stands next to you/sits on top of you just to make sure you know he is there. He has been great with all the dogs he has met so far, and has enjoyed being out and about with us at Meet and Greets. Whenever he meets new people or dogs his tail wags at 100 miles an hour! He has also been good with all the children he has met so far, although he is a bit like a bull (breed) in a china shop when excited so a home with older children would be preferable. We are looking for an active home for Red, and we think he may enjoy an activity such as agility - yes Staffies can do agility! He loves people so much we think he would like a family with someone around most of the day. A canine companion, preferably a bitch would be a bonus as long as they could match his energy! He has not been tested with cats, whilst we do not think he would harm one we feel he may think it is a fun toy to chase. However, we can cat test further if required. All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. Cardiff: Dizzy is a 7/8 year old small black female Patterdale terrier and is currently on foster in Cardiff. Dizzy is a very special girl. As a puppy, she was tied to a shed and her skin grew around her collar so she has a bald patch around that area. She has since then lived in a family home and is fully housetrained. Dizzy is a typical terrier and although she is on foster with cats, she would benefit from a home without cats or small furries. She is great with other dogs though.Dizzy can be wary of strangers although once she knows you she loves her cuddles and walks. She is not happy in a noisy family home so we are looking for a quieter home. She will not because of this be rehomed with children under 11. Dizzy is crate trained and travels well in a car and can be left for a period of time. Dizzy is a great little terrier who has settled well into her foster home. She loves her walks and her cuddles and she will give a lot of love to the home who can give her these. At present her recall has not been tested as she is very interested in the local rabbit population but with time and positive training there is no reason to believe that this won‚t improve.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. Plymouth: Winnie is a 2ish year old Westie , she is currently on foster in Plymouth area . When she came into Hopes care she was suffering badly from a skin complaint, under her foster homes love and care she has come along well and is now doing much better, she now just needs a Malaseb bath every 2-3 weeks. Winnie is great with dogs, good with horses, chickens and cats. Winnie is good with children although very food orientated so we feel a home with older children would be more suitable. If she has had a good walk she can be happily left for 4 hours. She is now completely housetrained. She walks really well on the lead and has fantastic recall. She travels really well, but needs to be crated or in the boot behind a dog guard as she would try and drive with you if she could! Winnie is a very clever little girl and has picked up basic training quickly, her love of food makes training her really easy.
Due to her love of food she can be a scavenger and thief so this needs to be kept a eye on, she can also be jealous sometimes of other dogs getting affection, her fosterer is dealing with this by ignoring the behaviour and this seems to be working. Winnie is a great little dog and we think an active home would be best for her as although she doesn't mind being left she loves to go for a walk and is a proper busy body.
Winnie has not been spayed as yet as she was in season when she arrived so this will need to be done now in 2 months time, if she is rehomed in South Wales she can have this done at the rescues vets.

West Wales: BEN 3 YEAR OLD LABRADOR
Ben is a 3yr old friendly, lab boy who came to us because his owners couldn‚t give him enough time. He is a big boy and can be quite boisterous with other dogs but may settle with a quiet bitch as long as she was more his own size. He knows some basic commands, has a good recall (with treats), although he does pull on a lead and would need some more work on this. His favourite activity, typical for a lab, is swimming, and he likes to play fetch, but can be easily distracted. Ben is a little food fixated in the kennels, but with his previous owners he was better mannered, and we feel that with a little more training ˆ and in a home environment he would soon regain his manners. If you can offer Ben a loving, forever home please contact us on 0845 4630623 or email rehoming@ceredigionanimalrescue.org.uk We rehome all over the UK but will always carry out a home check (REHOMED)

Hereford: Two stunning male Lionhead baby rabbits are looking for a loving, responsible and experienced home. One white and one black - 15 weeks old. Still with me due to time-wasters and unsuitable homes offered. These are the last two of a litter of 7 and all have found lovely homes. I do not want to pass the last two on to a pet shop as I want to know that they will also have a good home. I would prefer they went together so they don't end up living on their own, but will consider splitting if they are to be paired with an existing rabbit. Both are friendly, litter-trained, handled every day. In perfect health and really elegant to look at. They will need to be neutered in the next few weeks and a responsible home will be prepared to do this, so that these two stay calm and sociable and do not develop "teenage" grumpiness. It will be essential if they go together in order that they don't fight later on. Can you give these two lovely rabbits the life they deserve? They have been so spoilt to date that simply dropping them off at a pet shop will not do. Please contact me urgently if you can help. I also have hutches/run that I would be willing to negotiate on for the right person. Within a reasonable distance I could be in a position to deliver. Will email photos if you contact me - too big for form!

plymouth , devon: 'Pike' is a three year old Jack russell cross. He is handsome and intelligent. smooth coated and short legged. Healthy, house trained, protective. He would prefer to have a lot of space to run about in and would make an excellent working ratter. Pike often tries to be pack leader and challenge people and other dogs. Typical terrier, hates cats- likes digging and chasing rats and rabbits. An outdoor life would be perfect for this little guy but he could make a good house dog with a little more socialization. Totally free to right home.

North Kent (Gravesend Hey, I need someone to re home my male staff. Im moving for university in July and were having to bunk in with relatives for the first few months, and we cant take him with us! He is a fantastic natured dog, I really wish we could keep him. We've had Tyson for about a year now, he was a rescue dog. His previous owner passed away and no one could take him in. Since he has been with us he has shown no aggression what so ever. He is loving, cuddley and loves playing fetch. He is great with other dogs (not cats though) and with children. He is well behaved off the leader and obeys simple commands such as sit/ stay etc.
All I ask is that Tyson goes to a good home where he receives as much love as he gets here.
Anything else you need to know please feel free to e mail me. P.S he is fully house trained. I am unable to post a photo for some reason. I can send you a few over e-mail if you wish! Im sure you will agree he is one handsome dog.

Her previous owner no longer has room to keep her, and if we cannot find her a new home she will be slaughtered and sold as food. Sophie, the previous owner, has become very attached to Chops and now thinks of her as a pet, and could not bear it if Chops was killed. Does any one have enough space to keep a pig? If so please tell me!

York: Bear was found as a stray and served his 7 days. He is only a baby at around 9 months Bear is going to be a large dog, he is a Newfoundland X. Bear hasn't been fully assessed but from what we have seen he is good with people, children and seems good with other dogs. Bear is a gem of a dog. He is a clever boy who is eager to learn but has no manners. He might do well in a home with an older, well trained dog as well as guidance from his new owners. Bear would not be suitable for 1st time owners. Dogs? Fine - Cats? Could be tested - Children? Fine - Housetrained? Unsure

York: Tessa desperately needs a new home of her own. She is an older lady who has been through the wars but she absolutely lives for her walks and cuddles! Tessa is a funny little girl who is looking for a quiet home with an enclosed garden where she can enjoy the nice weather, sunbathing is one of her favourite past times! Tessa is fully vaccinated, spayed, chipped, flead and wormed up to date (like all of our dogs). Tessa was found as stray, she was already chipped and her owners didn't want her back. She had some scarring on her face, was very underweight and appeared to have had a stroke at some point. The stroke does mean that she can't feel everything on one side and her sight and hearing have been affected on that side but there are no treatments for this and it does not affect her life or temperament at all. Tessa has had a full blood screen which came back clear, she has however had a few ops since she came to us. She has had various fatty lumps removed but more recently we found a 'gritty' lump which turned out to be cancerous. The vets and the lab believe it has been fully removed but like with any cancer there are no guarantees. We can't stress enough how much of a happy dog Tessa is, she loves life and shows no signs of slowing down! Tessa is a dog who really deserves a second chance. She is a favourite with the staff and dogwalkers! We are worried that Tessa's medical history will put people off taking her, she has been with us since November 2009 . Tessa is happy to walk with other dogs and is great with people and children, but she is looking for a home as the only pet because this is what she is used to and at her time in life we do not want to cause her any upset. Tessa is housetrained and has never chewed anything in her kennel. She will make a great companion. (If the staff didn't already have their own dogs she would have gone to one of them by now!)
Could you be Tessa's lifesaver? She would be the real rescue dog!

York: Rigsby has just arrived as a stray so at the moment we don't know too much about him. He is a friendly middle/older aged chap who likes pottering around and generally sniffing everything! Rigsby is a small Terrier x with short legs, short coat and a long spotty body.
Rigsby is looking for a quieter home with no children or other dogs. Rigsby is good with some, particularly females but we think he would do better on his own. Rigsby is fully vaccinated, chipped, flead and wormed and neutered.
